Irish v. Army in the new Yankee Stadium? Very cool.

The New York Times is reporting that Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick has been in very preliminary in discussions with the Yankees about playing some Fighting Irish football in the new Yankee Stadium, and considers Army an obvious opponent given the historical context.

Very, very cool. I have no idea how the new Yankee Stadium would work as a college football venue as far as views and sight lines, etc..., but the idea of playing there instead of the Meadowlands is very intriguing. Wake up the Echoes!

As a Notre Dame fan and a Yankees fan, I'm all for it. As much as Swarbrick wants to barnstorm the Irish across the country, this would be ideal to go along with playing in San Antonio, Dallas, New Orleans, Orlando and Dublin. I still think a neutral-site game against Alabama in Nashville would be amazing.

Am a Yankees fan...stopped off in Commerce OK on the way back from out west.
The Mick was really lucky to get out of there.{ Even given what was probably a better economy for that area in his youth.}

Also like more southern teams as well.
