Al Gore Makes Me Sick

We interrupt our normally scheduled Irish football blogging to get sick to our stomachs.

Sorry about that. It seems that Al Gore has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It is not exactly clear which region of conflict and strife in the world he has brought peace to. Or even a glimmer of a hope for peace. He should have been awarded the Nobel Scare-Mongering Bad Science Propagandizing Self-Important Hypocrite Award. But then, I didn't get a vote.

How dare Al Gore be awarded for bringing reality to the people. Doesn't he know George Bush had set the trend for giving the people his version of reality 6 years ago?! Lol. I'll stick to reading your insights on ND football and forget you posted this (in true homage to our former Attorney General and his selective memory).

It's a vast conspiracy, I tell ya! All these wacky environmentalists keep saying they want to "save the world," when all they really want is to... uh...

umm...

(Why do they care about this so much? 'Cause it couldn't possibly be that they truly care about the future of our children or anything...)

Oh, yeah! They just want to win Nobel Prizes!

Selfish bastages...

All I have to say is, the Nobel Peace Prize has been significantly devalued today. So sad...

Why would any rational person doubt the importance of climate change, or the amazing work Gore has had in elevating awareness on the issue? Science shouldn't concern itself with politics... nor it would seem, should a college football blog! :)

1. Funny, but the only poster defending Gore refuses to put his name (or any name) to his views. Everyone else is willing to stand up and be counted by some sort of identity.

2. No doubt global warming is an issue. By my count, the globe has been warming steadily since the last Ice Age (well before Man had anything to do with it).

3. Al Gore uses bad science to place a disproportionate amount of blame for global warming on mankind, as an excuse for giving governments more control over the lives of its citizens.

4. While urging all of us to change our habits in order to save the planet, Gore (who can afford better than any of us to change his habits) gives himself (and his Hollywood friends) a total pass. Private jets, SUV limousines, huge energy-wasting house, are all okay for Al. God forbid my wife drive a Jeep for carpool.

5. Why the Peace prize? It makes no sense and makes a mockery of the Peace Prize.

6. Why not the Nobel prize for science? Answer: Because Al Gore is all about junk science.

7. It's my blog. I do write mostly about ND football. But as my banner says, I reserve the right to write about anything on my mind.

I feel sorry for you if don't look outside, see all the smog we pump into the air, and think it doesn't have any effect. Global warming aside, car exhaust just isn't good for your health. If its not good for your health, and it doesn't go away, then it's not good for your kids health either. How can someone who went to ND be that uneducated? You use all the classic conservative big business arguments. And if you think the global warming "conspiracy" is a political agenda to increase government, then you haven't been following Bush's administration, which has been increasing government since the moment he got there (Patriot act anyone?)

Hey what about China.. the ¿ Patriot Act ? Radium Springs NM is being warmed by Radium as our Post Office suggests :: Radium Springs, NM88054. A non poluting source as well as the SUN :: it's nuclear & warming up the ' Hell Hole State '.

Help me out here with the logic.

(1) Pollution is bad; therefore

(2) Al Gore wins the Nobel Peace Prize.

Can you help me draw the connection? I've been told that pollution is bad since I was a tot. How does it translate to a Nobel Peace prize when Al Gore says it?

Google "ice ages" and note how many the earth has had. Man should do as much as possible to keep our planet clean, however global warming has much more to do with the wobbly orbit of the earth and proximity to the sun.
Mars is getting warmer as well how many humans are messing with the "Red" planet?
It has been discovered near glaciers that have been retreating that humans existed where glaciers have been, before the cooling.
The earth has had at least four ice ages which means the earth has had at least three or more warming trends.
Man isn't as big an influence as we would like to believe.

Uhh... Muhammad Yunus didn't do anything more related to Peace with his microfinance Peace Prize last year. NPP has more to do with unifying nations around a common topic of concern. Do some of us still really think climate change is primarily a geologic (not man-induced) issue? I'm not trying to pick a fight... I'm just really surprised that that argument is still surfacing. Good blog btw. I respect your writing and your viewpoint, even if I don't agree with this one!
